About the Club

The Electrical Workers Riding Club is the IBEW Local 1 Saint Louis Chapter of the IBEW Motorcycle Riders International network. We are union electricians who ride American-made motorcycles, raise money for our brothers and sisters, and look out for one another on the road and off.

Who We Are

How It Started

The idea took root in 2016, when Local 1 Business Representative Chuck DeMoulin ran into visiting Milwaukee riders at the opening of the Henry Miller Museum here in St. Louis. They told him about the annual East Coast Solidarity Ride, hundreds of IBEW members, every dollar going to charity. He thought that was pretty cool.

Three years later, with permission from the International Union and Local 1 Business Manager Frank Jacobs, Chuck rounded up Local 1 brothers Norm Moss, Dustin Zimmerman, and Mark Callahan, and on October 1, 2019 the Electrical Workers Riding Club, IBEW Local 1 Saint Louis Chapter, became the newest member of the IBEW Motorcycle Riders International network.

We held our first organized rides, then COVID hit. Our first fundraiser, a 50/50 raffle, raised $2,000 for the Local 1 Relief Fund. Six years on, the club has grown well past those original 40 members.

Our Mission

Why We Ride

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Motorcycle Riders members share the common interest of motorcycling, motorcycle safety, and promoting the brotherhood of the IBEW. The club provides support to non-profit charities and aids worthy and distressed brothers and sisters, widows, and orphans, all while following the laws, rules, and regulations of the IBEW and the IBEW Motorcycle Riders International Inc.

From the EWRC1 Bylaws, established October 1, 2019.
