Over $5K raised at IBEW Local 1 Greg Booth Ride

St. Louis. The 12th Annual Greg Booth Ride was once again a huge success, raising $5,220 for the union's Relief Committee to support members in need. The ride is named after Brother Greg Booth, who served as Local 1 business manager from 2011 until his death in August 2012.

Local 1 President Mike Crocker and Treasurer Chuck DeMoulin were quoted in "The Leather-Clad Solidarity of the IBEW's Motorcycle Clubs," a national piece on the broader IBEW Motorcycle Riders network. The article covered the 2023 Midwest Solidarity Ride and EWRC1's charity work.

$6.4K raised at Greg Booth Ride for the Relief

IBEW Local 1 members and their families and friends turned out in force for the Greg Booth Ride, which began at the Local 1 union hall and stopped at Wente's in Chesterfield, Cori's Twin Gables in Marthasville, Millwoods in Wentzville, and ended at Hot Shots in St. Charles. The run raised $6,400 for the Relief Committee.

EWRC1 donates $4,000 to The Women's Safe House

EWRC1 President Mike Crocker presented a check for $4,000 to the St. Louis "Women's Safe House" from money raised at the 2023 IBEW Midwest Solidarity Ride. The event was co-sponsored with Kansas City Local 53, drew about 100 motorcycles and 140 participants from 17 IBEW locals, and was held July 29 at the Lake of the Ozarks.

First out-of-state benefit ride with sister local

Twelve EWRC1 members took part in the IBEW Local 1393 Motorcycle Group annual benefit ride on May 12 in Indianapolis, the first time the club joined a sister local's benefit ride. The ride drew 115 participants from nine electrical unions and raised more than $4,800 for the American Cancer Society of Indiana and other local charities.

New EWRC1 raises $2,000 for the relief fund

The newly formed IBEW Local 1 Electrical Workers Riding Club donated $2,000 to the Local 1 Relief Fund from its first fundraising effort, a 50/50 raffle of 200 tickets at $20 each. Member Jeff Riddle won the draw and donated half of his winnings back to the fund. The club, founded the prior October, had 40 members at the time.
